About Babba’s
We are a local family business, who have been around since 1974.
In the early hours of the morning, the staff here at Babba’s are busy preparing the delicious food that the locals have come to know and love. Babba’s is a family owned and operated business located in Cairns, Queensland, Australia.
Babba (Nadia Softa) dreamed of having an open-style Kitchen and today customers can see the food being prepared from start to finish. Over the years the shop has evolved from a corner store to a modern dine in restaurant, drive thru services and online ordering.
In 1974 Babba converted her home on Reservoir road to serve her customers, she wanted more people to enjoy her cooking. Babba had the very first mobile food van in Queensland, as well as the first to cook Charcoal Chickens.
Babba’s is continually looking for ways to bring their customers new and exciting menu items. Whilst maintaining our traditional cooking methods to ensure quality and taste. This will always be our priority.
Over 45 years later and we are still providing quality food for everyone to enjoy. If you’re very lucky you might even get to have a chat with Babba herself.
Today, Babba’s is renown as ‘The Best Chicken and Chips in Cairns’, a landmark and a local’s favourite. We are very proud to be one of the longest operating businesses here in Cairns.
